Customers simply type in an item on the Waste Wizard search engine and receive instructions on which color cart to place the item in, as well as helpful tips to ensure proper disposal.
The Waste Wizard teaches the user what items can be recycled, put in the green bin for composting, or placed in the trash. The Merced Recycles app also includes an interactive feature called the ‘Waste Wizard’. The ‘Merced Recycles’ app allows the user to input their home address so that a local trash pick-up schedule can be generated for them the schedule includes the option of sending personalized reminders to place bins out on the curbside for collection. For safety reasons *cough! - not to hide my hideous stapling - cough!* I then taped around the edge of the mesh since it is sharp. I then used the staple gun to secure the mesh to the frame trying as far a possible to pull the mesh tight. With this frame made I then placed the fine mesh over the hole. Using a 16mm drill bit I made a hole so that I could use the jigsaw to cut out the middle of the ply. I centred the metal mesh, drew around it and then offset the perimeter by 5mm. I cut it in half to make two pieces 300mm x 300mm. I began with an 18mm piece of ply, 600mm x 300mm. Fine metal mesh 240mm x 200mm (or something similar) 18mm ply wood 600mm x 300mm (or something similar) If you don't have a drill or a jigsaw a great alternative to this method would be to get yourself two identical wooden picture frames - I was going to do it with picture frames until I found this piece of ply. The only thing I needed to buy was the mesh which cost me £1.50. This will be the device used to shape the paper.
